The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Deputy High Commission in Chennai organized a visit of business delegation of Sri Lankan Exporters to Chennai, led by the Secretary General of the NCE, from February 27th to 02nd March 2019.

The objective of the visit was to promote two way trades between Sri Lanka and India , specially exports from Sri Lanka to India and also to explore potential possibilities of identifying and sourcing raw materials that could be used for exports, including high tech Machinery and processing technologies, Joint Venture for Investment opportunities. The trade delegation comprised of representatives of leading business companies in Sri Lanka.

 The Commercial Section of Sri Lanka Deputy High Commission in Chennai arranged one on one meetings with the members of South India Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Andhra Chamber of Commerce and Industry, India-ASEAN-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Federation of Indian Exporters Organization and leading entrepreneurs in Chennai enabling the Sri Lankan business delegation to interact with them and explore business opportunities.

During the visit, an MOU was signed between the National Chamber of Exporters and India-ASEAN-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce in Chennai with a view to further strengthen trade and investment collaboration between the members of the two Chambers.  

 

The Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Chennai hosted a business networking Dinner for the visiting delegation, to meet South Indian Chamber members, Sri Lankan business community and leading business people in Chennai and more than 100 participants were present at the networking dinner.

The Commercial section of the Sri Lanka Deputy High Commission in Chennai will coordinate with the companies in Sri Lanka for the follow up action on the visit.
