The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Viet Nam in collaboration with National Gem & Jewelry Authority (NGJA) and Industrial Development Board (IDB) organized Sri Lankan company participation in The International Jewelry Vietnam 2024, for the first time. The fair was held from 8th to 11th June 2024 at Nguyen Du Stadium, District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Five Sri Lankan companies, namely, Prasad Gems & Lapidary, Ranmuthu Jewellers, Elegant Jewellery Works, Oriental Jewel Craft and Southern Jewellery and Work Shop participated at the fair.

Around 3,000 visitors visited the fair and they were mainly from the Gem and Jewelry Industry. Sri Lankan booths had a greater attraction from the visitors, as this was the first time Sri Lankan Gems and Jewelry were exhibited in this market. The Sri Lankan participants were able to secure good businesses and also find long term buyers.
Viet Nam market is not yet explored sufficiently by Sri Lankan Gem and Jewelry industry stakeholders. However, the achievements received in this fair justify Viet Nam as a potential, lucrative market for Sri Lankan gem and jewelry. Further, as there is already increasing interest for Sri Lankan Gems and jewelry in Viet Nam, Viet Nam Association of Gemstones (VAG) has agreed to bring a delegation of eight to the Ratnapura International Gem & Jewellery Show, which will be held from 29th June to 1st July 2024 in Ratnapura, where one Vietnamese company would also exhibit their products.
Ms. Kishani Wickramasinghe, Minister (Commercial) of the Mission coordinated Sri Lanka’s successful participation at the IJV 2024.
